Senior Data Analyst
Description
Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst (with a strong background in Analytics Engineering principles) to join our growing Performance Management team. This critical role will be instrumental in transforming raw business data into trusted, organized, and actionable datasets that drive strategic decision-making.
You will be the vital link between our business stakeholders and our data warehouse, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core logic used to calculate our most important Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable performing deep-dive analysis in Excel and modeling complex data structures using dbt and SQL.
Responsibilities:

- Partner with business leaders (e.g., Finance, Sales, Product) to define, document, and standardize key financial and operational metrics and KPIs. Ensure these metrics are calculated consistently across all reporting tools.
- Business Analysis:
- Conduct deep-dive analyses using Excel and reporting tools (we use PowerBI, but tools like Looker, Tableau, or Sigma are just as relevant) to translate data trends into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for leadership.
- Data Modeling & Transformation:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust data transformation pipelines using dbt (data build tool) and SQL to create accurate and easily consumable data models within our data warehouse.
- Data Reliability:
- Implement data quality checks and monitoring within the dbt framework to ensure the integrity and trust of our core business datasets.
- Documentation:
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all data models, metrics, and transformation logic.
- Cross-Functional Support:
- Act as a subject matter expert for data and analytics, helping analysts and stakeholders use the trusted datasets effectively.
Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- 4+ years of professional experience in a Data Analyst, BI Developer, or Analytics Engineer role.
- SQL Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in writing complex, highly performant SQL queries, including window functions, CTEs, and various join types.
- Analytics Engineering Tooling: Proven, hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool) for data modeling, orchestration, and testing.
- Spreadsheet Fluency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for modeling, deep-dive analysis, forecasting, and presenting data (e.g., Pivot Tables, complex functions like INDEX/MATCH, array formulas).
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of core business and financial metrics, particularly those relevant to SaaS or recurring revenue models (e.g., ARR, MRR, Churn, LTV, CAC, Margin).
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- A strong desire to learn and a proactive attitude toward mastering new technologies, specifically the SAP ecosystem.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ideal Candidate Profile (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse platform (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift).
- Familiarity with modern BI tools (e.g., Looker/LookML, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience working with version control (Git).
- A degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
